June event permit asked for courthouse grounds; committee to reconcile schedule with Cars and Coffee
Summary
A request was made to use the courthouse parking lot and site near the river for Alex’s Duck Duck Run on June 13, 2026 for about 500 people; county staff will contact Cars and Coffee, which holds an October-approved slot for six hours overlapping the event, about using its rain date to avoid conflicts.

Jennifer Arent presented a property-use request for Alex’s Duck Duck Run to use the courthouse parking lot and the site near the river on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for approximately 500 participants. Arent noted that Cars and Coffee previously received approval for Oct. 16, 2025 for 9 a.m.–11 a.m. but that Cars and Coffee had supplied a rain date of Sunday, June 14, for their event.
Trail confirmed the courthouse lot can hold roughly 200 cars and told the committee Cars and Coffee had provided rain dates. Chairman Curran directed Arent to contact Cars and Coffee to ask whether they would use their rain date so Alex’s Duck Duck Run can proceed at the requested time. The minutes record direction to staff rather than a final approval; staff follow-up is expected.
