Harris summarized the construction progress, described cost-saving measures he used during project management and voluntarily offered to continue overseeing final tasks and the building’s operations. "I really want it to be successful," he said, explaining he had calculated potential rental revenue from pickleball courts and separate events at roughly $50,000 per year. Council members praised Harris’s work, noted the building is close to being paid off, and voted unanimously to approve the $15,000 authorization to complete the remaining items.
Council discussion emphasized monetizing the facility to cover operating costs; members suggested resident discounts, coupon codes and using volunteer groups to reduce maintenance/painting costs. The approval was recorded by roll call as unanimous in the minutes.
