Residents urge county to pursue grants and dredging as Lewis Creek fills in

John Harris described having a foot or less of water at private docks, said runoff from nearby commercial developments is likely contributing to headwater filling, and urged the county to investigate sources and mitigation options.
David Lewis, representing the St. Mary's River Watershed Association, also urged stronger recognition of the county’s marine orientation in the 2050 plan and recommended the county incorporate nongovernmental organizations’ expertise and volunteer resources into waterway planning.
