Tualatin announces rail closures, Riverfront Park RFP and $2 million Metro grant

During roundtable announcements the city manager highlighted multiple public-works and community items. Sherilyn Lambos said Southwest Tualatin Road will be closed at the rail between Chinook and Sweet Drive next Monday and Tuesday for rail rehab, and a larger closure affecting crossings near Boones Ferry will require ODOT coordination and significant detours. She urged residents to plan alternate routes for that week.
Lambos also previewed an upcoming Riverfront Park design contract that will come before council, provided an update on the citys sidewalk and street-tree project (contractor delays and fall replanting plans), and announced that Metro awarded the city a $2,000,000 Nature and Neighborhoods grant. "We were awarded the Nature and Neighborhoods grant of $2,000,000," Lambos said, thanking Councilor Brooks for advocacy on the application.
Staff noted other community events (IBAC neighborhood fair, LIGA conference) and scheduled upcoming council and CIO items, including a CIO boundary map discussion scheduled for August. The work session closed and the council reconvened for the main meeting.
