The Salem Township Board of Supervisors on Dec. 18 adopted the 2025 budget and fixed the 2025 tax rate, approving Resolution No. 31-2024 and signaling there will be no tax increase for township residents. Supervisor Bob Zundel stated, "there will not be a tax increase for 2025." The motion passed unanimously.
At the same meeting the board approved the month’s expenditures across funds totaling $114,620.74: General Fund $41,641.49; Payroll Fund $66,781.99; Sewage $983.00; Street Lights $394.96; Liquid Fuels $1,282.91; Machinery $1,650.39; Special Projects $1,886.00. Resident Connie Mattei questioned a $145 charge on an invoice from Jobe Inspection Service identified as for a UCC violation; the charge was discussed but the payment motion passed unanimously. The board approved minutes from Nov. 20 and a Dec. 17 special meeting as part of routine business.
The board also set dates for early-January organizational meetings and routine calendar items, approving advertisement of the Re-Organization meeting for Jan. 6, 2025 and other meetings. The board’s votes on the budget and expenditures were all unanimous.
