"On recommendation of the committee, I move to provide the Berkeley County supervisor the authority to sign the grant agreement… in the amount of $2,301,306 with no local match required," the committee reported; council voted and the motion carried.
The committee also recommended awarding Marsh Bell Construction $850,000 to construct two new training towers at the Berkeley County Training Center, funded from the 2024 state allocation grant; council approved the award. Committee on Public Utilities recommended awarding a Harper Corporation contract to replace switchgear/control panels and related equipment at pump station 66 for $296,000 from R&R funds, and to renew the water analytics system through Ferguson Waterworks for $127,400.95; both motions carried.
Council recorded approvals by motion for each committee recommendation; departments will complete procurement and execute grants or contracts under standard county procedures.
