Solicitor seeks Planning Commission review of proposed SALDO changes; discusses standalone lighting ordinance for signs

In his Solicitor's Report, Atty. Falatovich told supervisors the Township is ready to refer 5–6 proposed changes to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) to the Planning Commission for review. Among the proposed changes is establishing escrow accounts to cover solicitor and engineer fees for land developments. He requested Supervisor approval to forward the proposed changes to the Planning Commission to begin the review process.
Falatovich also addressed sign and billboard lighting rules, explaining that a court decision changed the legal treatment of billboards so that municipalities can adopt a standalone lighting ordinance for billboards and signs even if they are not classified as land development. He suggested the board review a model lighting ordinance alongside the SALDO revisions.
