Boyle County reports $86.4M budget first reading; awards $870,000 pickleball contract to Tennis Tech

Boyle County Treasurer reported the county's proposed FY budget is balanced at $86,403,562 and the fiscal court approved the document for first reading on May 12.
Treasurer staff described adjustments since the last workshop, including moving $15,000 into recycling contracted services from the bike‑park line, transferring $150,000 from the opioid fund reserve into a health program support line for Family Drug Corp, and showing TAP grant increases on revenue and expense lines. The treasurer also reported $19,000,000 in bonding included in the budget to support capital needs such as a new EMS center on Lebanon Road and courthouse projects.
County Administrator Julie Wagner reported four bids for the county's pickleball project; the lowest base bid was $870,000 from Tennis Tech, and Wagner recommended awarding the base bid (no alternates) to Tennis Tech. The court approved awarding the pickleball contract to Tennis Tech by voice vote.
The budget now proceeds to the Department of Local Government for review ahead of a scheduled second reading.
