The Huntsville Town Planning Commission approved the Stevensions’ land-use permit for an addition to 241 S. 7600 E on March 27, 2025, but asked staff to collect additional details on the building’s height and whether the addition is one or two stories.
In an email on file with town staff, Christopher and Mavis Stevenson described the planned work as “one contiguous structure” connected to the existing home by a hallway and said the front portion would be a two-car garage. The email stated the applicants intend the added roughly 1,200–1,250 square feet of livable area for immediate family use, not for rental."The addition is part of one contiguous structure...the front part of the addition is a two car garage," read the applicant email included in the packet. Commissioner Jeff Larsen noted the site plan showed setbacks in compliance but asked that staff verify the height shown on the plans.
Chairman Allen Endicott moved to approve the land-use permit, with Shannon Smith instructed to obtain the requested clarifications from the applicants and file them with the permit record. The motion passed unanimously.
The commission’s conditional approval preserves the applicant’s submitted setbacks and requires written responses to the planning commission’s special considerations before the permit file is finalized.
