Huntsville adopts revised personnel policies and procedures manual

The Huntsville Town Council adopted Resolution 2024-10-17 on Oct. 17, 2024, ratifying an updated Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual that replaces a manual originally drafted about 2012. Clerk Beckki Endicott explained the manual was revised with assistance from Madison Aviles, LAA and Civic Link software, and that the draft "hasn't been completely proofread and she was open to suggested edits." Councilors asked for a dated cover page and asked that the sexual-harassment reporting section require complaints be made to both the mayor and the attorney rather than the mayor alone.
Councilmember Lewis Johnson moved to approve the resolution with the suggested amendments; the motion passed with all votes in the affirmative. Endicott said staff will upload the approved manual to the town website so employees can access it, as required by state code. The resolution adopted text that instructs the town to make the manual available online and states the manual becomes effective immediately upon adoption.
