Select Board directs progressive clearing, tree removals and parking regrading at Middletown Cemetery

The Select Board on June 12 assigned additional grounds tasks at Middletown Cemetery, including regrading for parking and selective tree removal.
Board members instructed Trevor to regrade the area in front of the gate and to fill an existing trench using material from the pit so that small work vehicles can access the grounds; Coleman agreed Trevor could regrade up to and past the right‑side tree. In the Slade section the family granted permission to remove three trees whose roots were interfering with tombstones; Grant asked Trevor to remove two clumps of small trees on the right and to clear brush so the three large pine trees serve as the right boundary.
Trevor said he will add the new tasks to his existing work list and execute them over time to progressively clean the grounds. Board members also agreed the town will dispose of the large tree trunks that are removed. Members praised Trevor’s recent work, noting attendees at a recent funeral had complimented the condition of the grounds.
