The Regional Planning Commission approved four personnel policy updates recommended by the state's attorney: a family neonatal intensive care (NICU) leave (driven by state law) that provides up to 20 days of protected leave for employers with 16 or more employees; broadened job-content evaluation options beyond a single employer association; a new workplace environment standards policy restricting items that can trigger sensitivities in shared spaces; and an increase in the fleet fueling requirement from 25% to 50% full.
"The 1st 1, the family neonatal intensive care leave... requires employers with 16 or more employees to provide up to 20 days of protected leave for anyone who has a child in the NICU," Miss Hondon said, summarizing the first policy change. Commissioners discussed vendor exclusivity for job evaluations and were told existing membership with AIM (formerly Employers Association of Illinois) will remain but the change gives staff flexibility; the motion to approve the package carried by voice vote.
