Winhall Select Board staff conduct pre-bid walk-through of town buildings for cleaning RFP

Scott Bushee, identified in the minutes as Facilities, noted the RFP instructed bidders to meet at the Town Offices but that another attendee was waiting at the library. Contractor Renata Sawyer, who said she would submit a bid to clean all buildings, outlined the scope of her crews’ work across sites, including dusting, baseboards, glass doors, bathrooms and floor care. At the fire department she reported the area had “not been cleaned in a month” and that her staff would perform the monthly cleaning.
The tour also surfaced building maintenance and safety concerns, most notably at the Community Center where staff flagged ramp and railing repairs, a damaged cement pad at a ramp terminus, a side porch emergency exit that needs work, and soft or bubbling flooring in the pottery room. At the Town Garage, minutes note a very dirty eye-wash/dispenser and routine dust and shower-cleaning needs. The pre-bid meeting concluded at 9:51 AM with Beth Grant adjourning the tour.
