Select Board approves furnace replacement and discusses Transfer Station upgrades

Scott Bushee, Facilities and Transfer Station supervisor, told the Select Board the Station is especially busy and detailed several maintenance and operational needs, including new bottom flooring for large metal drop boxes and interest in a pole-barn structure with concrete pads to house compost, tires and mattresses. He said composting containers would need to be bear-proof and that such changes are likely within the next 2–3 years.
Bushee reported unresolved camera problems with vendor E-Enable and said the town will withhold the vendor's latest invoice until contracted repairs are completed. He also described repeated alarm-panel issues at the new town garage likely linked to Consolidated Communications phone lines after a thunderstorm.
On furnace replacement, the board reviewed two bids: Burr Snow for $8,500 and Irving for $10,790. With exterior chimney and electrical work, Burr Snow's cost was estimated closer to $9,000. The board approved hiring Burr Snow from the Municipal Reserve Fund provided the contract includes a written warranty.
