Select Board expands Middletown Cemetery wall repair RFP to 986 feet; pre-bid June 12

The Town of Winhall Select Board voted unanimously May 27 to accept a revised RFP for repairs at Middletown Cemetery, expanding the scope from one wall to all walls and specifying a total of 986 feet of stone wall to be repaired. Christie Boswell made the motion and Julie Isaacs seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Board members discussed operational limits for the work. Elizabeth Grant said she did not want an excavator used in the cemetery because there are burials scheduled and "it will make a huge mess." Grant also warned that endangered Lady Slippers grow in the Molinelli fenced-in plot and should not be disturbed. Chair E Stuart Coleman noted stones at South Road Cemetery need removal and said he would take care of those.
