Council approves $6,500 in BBB funds to replace pool diving board and buy automatic vacuum

City Foreman Paul Noel told the Martin City Council on April 9 that the municipal pool’s diving board is broken and needs replacement and that an automatic pool vacuum would aid maintenance. Noel said the diving board costs $5,250 and the automatic vacuum costs $1,600. Council approved purchasing both items and authorized using $6,500 from the BBB fund to pay for them.
The motion to fund the purchases from BBB money was moved by Warren Peterson and seconded by Randy Kocourek; it passed unanimously. Council also directed staff to advertise for a pool manager and lifeguards during the personnel discussion.
