Black Hills Council outlines funding options for Cozad housing site and arsenic filtration

Jennifer Sietsema, Executive Director of the Black Hills Council of Local Governments, addressed the Martin City Council on funding options for a potential housing development on the Cozad property and on funding possibilities for an arsenic filtration project. Sietsema outlined different funding pathways the council could consider if it decided to pursue development on the Cozad land.
Following the presentation, council members scheduled additional consideration of the Cozad property (see separate article on the special meeting) and discussed ensuring clear division of work between the Black Hills Council and prospective consultants on the arsenic filtration work. The presentation prompted a motion (by Doug Lucero) to hold a joint commissions special meeting Oct. 22 to continue the discussion.
