Transfer station manager reports driver incidents and facility needs; board requests RFP for library roof

Scott Bushee, the town's facilities and transfer station manager, told the board he was struck by the same driver on March 7 and that the driver had previously attempted to open the Swap Shop after hours in December. Bushee said if there is another incident "he will ask the Board to revoke her permission to use the Transfer Station." Vice Chair Julie Isaacs offered to reach out to the driver and back Bushee if further action is required.
Bushee also reviewed operational issues: electronic reporting is moving to a biennial schedule, Casella may increase composting fees, residents are the primary source of non-green-bag contamination, and speeding at the station remains a concern. The board asked Bushee and Town Administrator Lissa Stark to prepare an RFP for the library roof; Christie Boswell moved to create that RFP and Beth Grant seconded the motion, which the board approved.
Board members discussed getting better propane pricing for the Transfer Station and broader facilities projects, including electrical work, exhaust relocation and generator needs. Coleman said he will investigate alternative propane pricing options for the town.
