The commission approved CA26027, allowing the Canal Winchester Methodist Church to replace the aging aluminum windows on its Faith Educare education wing (15 W. Columbus) with a commercial storefront system in a clear anodized finish. Staff presented the scope as replacement of a mix of stationary and operable units with one-over-one insulated fixed glass sections and storefront doors; staff and applicant discussed operability and the option to add operable sections later if needed.
Commissioners welcomed the energy-efficiency and durability gains. One commissioner asked whether bronze anodized would be acceptable and staff said color options were available; the applicant preferred to keep the anodized finish close to existing trim. The motion to approve the replacements as submitted passed unanimously.
