At its July 27 meeting the Landmarks Commission reviewed CA26025, a relatively brief application to replace the front and rear doors at 34 West Columbus Street. Commissioners noted the front door is protected beneath a porch and appears to be repairable; several members urged salvage or professional refinishing instead of wholesale replacement.
After discussion the commission adopted a conditional approval: the front door should be kept and repaired as needed while the rear door may be replaced as proposed. The motion passed on roll call with unanimous support.
