Brookings County adopts updated strategic plan and reviews 2025 year‑end report

Commission Department Director Stacy Steffensen presented the updated Brookings County Strategic Plan and the board approved the update during the Feb. 3 meeting. Steffensen also presented the department’s 2025 year‑end report and highlighted upcoming community events, including the traveling Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall scheduled for June 11–14 at the Fishback Soccer Complex with a "Welcome Home" ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on June 11.
Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt the strategic plan. Steffensen also noted the Brookings Deuel Rural Water Annual Meeting is scheduled for April 14 at McKnight Hall in White and encouraged a commission representative to appear at related community events.
