The Finance and Personnel Committee approved Resolution 63 authorizing city officials to execute an intergovernmental agreement that formalizes a shared employee health facility at the Prairie States Building near South 6th Street. Staff said the memorandum of understanding will clarify partner responsibilities and provide a stable foundation for clinic operations shared by the city, Sheboygan County, the Sheboygan Area School District and, in a limited capacity, the town of Sheboygan.
Staff described the clinic as offering clinical services, lab work and same-day urgent-care appointments for employees and dependents. A staff speaker said the arrangement has operated for several years and that formalizing it would create clearer obligations for each partner. Alder Decker praised the program as cost-saving and beneficial for employees: “It's a money saving thing for the taxpayers on its own. It's good for the employees.” The committee voted to approve the agreement; no opposition was recorded on the motion to approve.
