Matt Lees, representing the petitioner, told the board the item had been before them at the prior meeting and that the board “voted unanimously to give a favorable recommendation to the city council” before the matter was republished as a public hearing. With no members of the public wishing to speak, the board moved and approved forwarding the amendment and associated ordinance to council.
The action was procedural: staff reminded members the hearing had been advertised and that reopening the hearing was necessary to accept any final public comment before the board’s formal recommendation. The board recorded a standard aye vote to send the item on to council as recommended.
The board did not take final action on the ordinance itself; City Council will receive the planning‑board recommendation and consider the ordinance during its own legislative process.
