County authorizes forfeiture-funded vehicle purchases and vehicle title transfers to SERT

At its March 25 meeting the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners approved the District Attorney’s request to use Drug Task Force forfeiture funds to purchase up to five vehicles at a cost not to exceed $130,000.00 within 90 days. The board also approved the title transfer of two vehicles from the South-Central Task Force and a private donor to the County’s Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) and directed they be added to the county insurance policy. Both motions were recorded as passing unanimously.
The actions were presented as administrative approvals to support law-enforcement assets and did not include additional budget appropriation beyond forfeiture funds. Departments were recorded as responsible for processing purchases and title transfers according to county procurement and asset-management procedures.
