The Sheboygan City Plan Commission on July 28 approved a conditional use permit submitted by ACE Building Services to construct a 41,900-square-foot addition to Torgano Incorporated’s manufacturing facility at 3217 Barrons Parkway.
Chris Herzog, president of ACE Building Service, said the expansion is "a 41,900 square foot expansion designed in like manner to the existing facility" to meet increased demand. Jason Labovie, CEO at Torgano, told the commission the company’s Sheboygan campus "will be just over 600,000 square feet after this addition" and said the company has "added just over 100 jobs year to date." The commission moved, seconded and approved the permit by voice vote.
The staff report described the addition as warehouse space for materials used in the residential flooring industry. Commissioners asked about scale and jobs; staff and applicants confirmed the addition’s footprint and the company’s near-term hiring plans. The approval was recorded as a motion carried by the chair.
