County council approves three agricultural land leases, one member recuses

Florence County Council approved three separate one-year agricultural leases during the March 19 meeting. County staff said the leases cover: Tax Map #00298-31-010 (42 acres) to Grier Farms, LLC at $40 per acre; Tax Map #00306-01-010 (59 acres) to George Harrington at $35 per acre; and Tax Map #00306-01-042 (112 acres) to Clint Moore at $15 per acre. Each lease requires the lessee to make necessary repairs to field roads at their expense.
All three resolutions were moved and seconded and approved by the members present; Resolution No. 26-2025/26 notes that Councilman Stoney C. Moore recused himself from the vote and a written statement of recusal was filed in the meeting record. Motions were recorded as approved by those present.
