Florence County Council authorized several procurement awards and a construction contract change order at its Nov. 21 meeting. The highest-profile award was the selection of Kimley‑Horn (Raleigh, NC) as the top‑ranked firm for the I‑95/SC 327 interchange planning study (FLATS); the County Administrator and Planning staff are authorized to finalize scope and negotiate cost before executing a contract pending County Attorney review.
Other awards: RFP No. 11-24/25 for additions to South Lynches Fire Station No. 2 was awarded to Parrott's Welding & Construction for $39,840 from CPST III funds; RFP No. 13-24/25 for waste tire disposal was awarded to Liberty Tire Recycling at $231.00 per ton; Bid No. 14-24/25 for MBC stone to N.W. White & Company was awarded at $100,837.71 from RSMF funds. Council also approved a cumulative change order adding $513,516 for Lake City Senior Center to an existing Thompson Turner contract for a revised total contract price of $3,994,547.
