Council awards CPST III dirt-to-pave contract and designates new CPST projects

Florence County Council on March 19 awarded Bid No. 25-25/26 for CPSTIII dirt-to-pave projects in Districts 4, 5, and 6 to C.R. Jackson of Darlington, SC, in the amount of $1,448,663.44. County staff said the bid opening was held March 11, three bids were received and two were compliant, and CR Jackson was the lowest responsible, responsive bidder recommended by Public Works and the CPSTIII program administrator.
Separately, by Resolution No. 29-2025/26 council designated 16 new CPSTIII-A projects totaling $1,623,118 and eight CPSTIII-B projects totaling $605,212, and reduced funding for two CPSTIII-A projects by $293,597 due to cost savings. County CPST III engineer Todd Warren reported that 267 of 346 road district projects have been completed and 26 roads are under construction. "Construction is underway for Maxie Thomas Road," staff noted, and multiple district-specific updates were provided during the meeting.
