Children's Advocacy Center asks county for support amid 27% caseload increase

Shannon, speaking for the Children's Advocacy Center, said the nonprofit provides services required by the state to support forensic interviews, therapy and testimony in abuse cases and reported a roughly 27% increase in children and families served over the prior year. "We're just looking for some help in helping us maintain what we do," Shannon said.
Board president Randy Squibb thanked the commissioners for past help with grants and building support, said the center employs about 12–14 full-time staff, and reiterated that rising caseloads and mandated services make county support important to sustain capacity. Commissioners acknowledged the center’s role and said they will weigh its request during budget prioritization.
