The move followed several days of contingency coverage after the EMS administrator was temporarily unavailable. Brian Webb, who spoke remotely, identified himself as “Brian Webb, EMS administrator for Kendall County,” and told the court he supported the temporary plan: “I have my trust in Shelley and Lacey and everything they've done for me and the court.” Commissioners and EMS staff discussed operational continuity, how blood custody and radio response would be handled, and possible effects on individual pay when a captain moves from shift work to a Monday–Friday interim assignment.
The court amended the motion to direct the appropriate official to notify the Department of State Health Services about the interim leadership change. Leslie Hernandez, a former Kendall County EMS assistant administrator who spoke during public comment, urged that notification and referenced EMS rule 157.11, saying the agency should be informed when there is an interim appointment and succession planning in place.
The motion was made by the presiding officer and seconded by Commissioner McCall. Teresa called the roll: Commissioners McCall, Regent and Carpenter and Judge Pro Tem Chapman each voted Aye; Judge Talarsikh was absent. The court recorded the outcome as a formal action and adjourned with no further items on the agenda.
