Summit County Service Area #3 Board of Trustees voted 6-1 on March 17 to approve a discounted $2,500 permit fee to help a business owner close out a 2021 commercial remodel permit. The standard current noncommercial permit fee is $20,000; Trustee David Olson moved for the discount and Trustee Caroline Gleich seconded the motion.
Board materials show the applicant provided the original permit application and requested submittals and asked that the Service Area consider the 2021 fee schedule rather than the current fee. The board discussed the request and voted with six in favor and one dissenting vote from Trustee Scott Witkin. Staff will process the permit under the approved discounted fee.
