Dispute Resolution Center highlights low-cost mediation, arbitration and juvenile diversion

Jerry Glover of the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission presented services offered by the Dispute Resolution Center (DRC), noting the center serves 26 Panhandle counties and offers mediation and arbitration at reduced fees. He said court-referred cases can use DRC services for a flat $250 and return as needed during a six-month period, a contrast to private mediators quoted at roughly $2,000 for a day of mediation.

Glover described a juvenile pretrial diversion program operated with Randall County, where eligible juveniles can complete eight hours of community service, participate in drug and alcohol education, and pay an administrative fee in exchange for avoiding a formal charge on their record. He also noted attorney-mediators volunteer for more complex cases. "We offer mediation services and arbitration services through our center," Glover said. The court thanked Glover for the update and offered continued support.
