NCTCOG flags $1 million diesel-emissions pot; Parker County adoption clears eligibility

Savannah Nance of the North Central Texas Council of Governments told Parker County commissioners the North Texas diesel emissions reduction call for projects had about $1,000,000 available and a near-term deadline. "There's $1,000,000 available to replace existing medium and heavy duty diesel powered equipment with lower emitting versions," Nance said, urging the county to adopt the Clean Fleet Policy to be eligible.
Nance and commissioners discussed the program’s geographic scope (sometimes limited to nonattainment counties and sometimes broader), historical awards across programs, and the variability in funding cycles and eligible project types. She cautioned that exact award amounts for Parker County depend on vehicle eligibility and which programs open in a given cycle.
County staff committed to providing a narrowed fleet inventory to NCTCOG so the county can be considered for current and upcoming calls for projects.
