He also discussed right‑of‑way work on several FM routes and coordination needs for signal projects.
When commissioners asked about protecting the county from tariff‑driven cost spikes, Bosco said standard road construction contracts shift escalation risk to contractors but allow renegotiation if a bid item increases by more than 20 percent; he recommended pre‑purchasing specific materials where feasible and using alternates to manage risk on large jobs.
The county will move forward on advertisement and award schedules for multiple projects, with an opening typically about 30 days after advertisement and staff preparing contract and funding steps for each precinct.
