Commissioner Walden presented a proclamation recognizing Kim Harden for grant-writing and reporting that helped Precinct 3 obtain nearly $4.5 million in Texas Emissions Reduction Program grants since 2015. The proclamation stated that Harden’s applications resulted in the acquisition of 29 vehicles with two more pending and commended her thorough reporting and follow-up.
Later in the agenda the court approved acceptance and ratification of a TCEQ grant (TIRP) for $1,279,733 to purchase additional natural-gas vehicles for Precinct 3. Commissioner Walden noted the grant includes a local match and thanked staff for managing grant funds. The awards and proclamation were approved by the court with motions carried 5-0.
