Kendall County suspends Thoroughfare Plan and delays stormwater drawdown standard review

After a closed session on development and regulatory matters, the Kendall County Commissioners’ Court voted to suspend the application of the county’s current Thoroughfare Plan until further notice and said it would work to reconsider the issue over the next months. The motion was moved by County Judge Shane Stolarczyk and seconded by Commissioner Jennifer McCall; the vote was 5‑0.
Separately, earlier in the afternoon the Court suspended the 1.66‑inch drawdown requirement in Section 5.6.D.3.a.iii(d)(i) of the Kendall County Development Regulations related to stormwater detention design standards and set the item for review at the first meeting in October 2026. The suspension motion was moved by Commissioner Richard Chapman and seconded by Commissioner Chad Carpenter and also passed unanimously.
