Representatives from the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) briefed Parker County commissioners on risk-management pool services and local training available to county staff. Haley Beaver, TAC HR consultant for the northeast region, explained the regional conference format (HR, legislative updates, workers’ comp, law enforcement and risk) and said those events can be provided at the county level free of charge through the TAC pool.
Kenny Lemons, TAC law-enforcement consultant and former sheriff, highlighted law-enforcement training and a planned session on responding to first-amendment auditors and litigation risks. “We provide coverages for counties to pull their funds together and provide trainings,” Beaver said. Commissioners thanked the presenters and noted scheduled local sessions and next-day training opportunities were available for multiple offices.
