Commissioners approve option for contractors to use third-party Bureau Veritas for fire plan review

Brian Hannah, fire program manager with Bureau Veritas, told the court that the proposed arrangement would provide plan review at the contractor's expense and that reports would be accepted by county staff. "It's a third-party agreement with the contractors, so there's no cost to the county," Hannah said. Commissioners asked whether Bureau Veritas would apply Parker County's local standards; Hannah said staff would compile local requirements and recognized national standards (the International Fire Code) as a common review basis.
Commissioners approved the concept and asked that the county fire marshal and related officials provide the local policies and thresholds so that the third-party review aligns with county expectations.
