Planning staff presented a unanimous annexation petition for approximately 2.35 acres at 2875 Jackson Street, which contains an existing Asian food market served by holding tanks. Staff said the owner requested annexation to enable connection to city sanitary sewer and water and to facilitate planned business expansion. The engineering and utilities review confirmed city water availability and explained a sanitary sewer extension north along the east side of the property will be required; staff said the owner agreed to cooperate with an easement and connection agreement.
Staff recommended approval and noted that the Department of Administration's municipal boundary review had found the annexation to be in the public interest. The commission moved and seconded the recommendation and approved it by roll call, motion carried 8‑0. No public comments were made at the hearing.
