Commission approves awards from May 13 bid opening for several contracts

The commission approved awards for a set of contracts from the May 13 bid opening (Attachment 2C) at the May 15 meeting.
Sam Weisgram said the May 13 opening comprised nine contracts with 40 bids; low bids totaled $89,933,000, which he said was $7,884,000 or about 9.6% above the engineers' estimate of $82,049,000. After completing bid review the department recommended awarding projects 2, 3 and 6 through 9 and the commission approved those recommendations by roll call.
The awards authorize staff to proceed with contract execution and project scheduling under the terms disclosed in the bid packages.
