Colby Petersen, representing the Soil & Water office, updated the committee on recent program activity and grant status. He said the Snowplow/Salt Reduction Grant work has closed on six of eight projects and that the New York State agency implementing the grant moved the blackout period earlier than previous years.
Petersen also listed local partnerships and activities, including Northern Blades in Bloomfield, Agriculture Environmental Management efforts, participation in the Eastern Finger Lakes Coalition, a Water Quality Symposium and outreach tied to DEC’s CleanSweepNY program. The report was accepted as information by the committee.
