County health staff flag March spike in overdose deaths; agencies to dig deeper

Committee members asked whether there were identifiable commonalities in the March deaths. Terry said she does not have access to death certificates and that forensic or case-level conclusions fall under other offices; she said the county is preparing a deeper review and collaborating with the district attorney's office and public health staff. Members pressed for more data and for follow-up reporting to the committee on findings and any recommended changes to prevention or response activities.
