Supervisors confirm fire official, appoint deputy fire marshal and approve vehicle purchase

County staff introduced Jennings (who previously worked in Colonial Heights) and noted Chief Kisner had been confirmed as fire marshal in 2023. A motion to appoint and ratify the two positions was made, seconded and approved by unanimous roll call.
Separately, the board approved purchasing a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 from Hendrick Chevrolet in Norfolk for use by the new fire captain/deputy fire marshal; staff stated the truck is on the lot and the total cost is $58,837.93. The board moved and voted unanimous aye to approve the purchase.
