Commission recommends rezoning for two Nottoway Avenue lots to Board of Supervisors

Staff told the commission that the two lots subject to P-25-11 are in the town-center area and that Residential Urban (RU) zoning would support medium-density residential development appropriate for West Petersburg. "We do feel like the requested zoning classification, residential urban RU, is compatible with the surrounding zoning pattern and surrounding land uses," Staff (Speaker 6) said.
The owner's agent, Ronald H. Gordon Jr., described the intended building plans and said owner Donny Bostic was out of state arranging family matters. After closing the public hearing with no public sign-ups, a commissioner moved that the rezoning be recommended to the Board of Supervisors under the public-purpose language read into the record; the motion was seconded and carried with six members voting to recommend approval. The commission's recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final action.
