Office for the Aging reports full transportation staff, nutrition-manager vacancy, and rising pantry use

Marianne Rosica-Brand, director of the Office for the Aging, told the Human Services Committee the department’s Transportation Department is currently fully staffed — two full-time drivers and two substitute drivers — and staff hope to resume transporting residents from St. Mark's Terrace in Dundee to Dundee Fresh and back.
Rosica-Brand said public-health promotion activities are “going really well” and that pop-up pantry numbers and Hope Center participation continue to increase. She reported the department has lost its Senior Nutrition Manager and is working to revamp the position. Committee member Dick Harper commended Rosica-Brand’s ability to handle recurring operational issues.
Members discussed the county’s participation in the 'Go Go Grandparent' program and concluded there are limited feasible ways to increase use because of the rural location and lack of taxis and other transit options.
Next steps: staffing recruitment and a reworked Senior Nutrition Manager position; continued monitoring of pantry and Hope Center demand.
