County and Town approve joint WYDOT safety letter with date amendment

The Teton County Board of Commissioners approved a joint letter from the Jackson Town Council and the Board addressed to WYDOT officials Darin Westby and John Eddins documenting local safety concerns. Transportation Manager Charlotte Frei presented the draft; Commissioner Luther Propst moved approval and Commissioner Wes Gardner seconded. Commissioner Len Carlman proposed a friendly amendment to add the date January 26, 2026 to the letter; the amendment was accepted by the motion maker and seconder and the motion carried.
The meeting record states Charlotte Frei will edit the letter as directed. The Board noted that the Town of Jackson had approved the same letter on Jan. 20, 2026, and the minutes reference previous discussion of the concerns on Jan. 20, 2026 meetings of both bodies.
