Steuben County IDA reports 62 active projects, thousands of jobs and millions in local revenue

Jamie Johnson, executive director of the Steuben County Industrial Development Agency, presented the IDA’s annual report and said, “we had 62 active projects, which is fairly stable year to year. Those active projects, those supported 6,681 jobs” and that projects generated more than $790,000,000 in payroll across the county.
Johnson walked the committee through reported investment and tax impacts included in the annual report and described recent and ongoing projects supported by the IDA, including Restore New York-assisted reconstruction on Wayland’s Main Street and downtown redevelopment work in Hammondsport and Bath. He also described the IDA’s broader role: providing incentives such as property tax abatements and sales/mortgage tax exemptions and partnering with state agencies to assemble financing and planning support.
Johnson invited committee members to upcoming IDA events and offered to answer questions about specific projects.
