Commissioners award medical‑examiner transport bid and approve FY25 fee schedule

The Commissioners Court awarded ITB 240801 for local transportation services for the Lubbock County Medical Examiner to Miller Mortuary and Crematory Services and approved the medical examiner office's FY25 fee schedule during the Oct. 14 meeting.
Purchasing reported one responsive bid and recommended Miller Mortuary; the court approved the award by motion. Andy Trevino of the medical examiner's office presented the FY25 fee schedule and said the only change is a $10 certified report fee (in addition to the existing $25 autopsy fee). The court confirmed body storage and other fees remain unchanged.
The items passed without recorded opposition. County staff said the certified report fee was added in response to increased requests from insurers and other parties for certified documents.
