Planning staff briefed the board on the petition to vacate the unimproved alley (SB‑25‑1), noting the alley appeared on old plats and the applicants seek consolidation of lots to create a single residential building lot. Applicant agent Hampton Gordon said the alley is unimproved and that the owners hold lots on both sides of an alley strip; the applicants asked the county to relinquish any public interest so private negotiations could proceed.
Connie Bressidine, who said her family has owned and paid taxes on the underlying lands for generations, asked the board to table the matter so she could meet with staff and the applicant and confirm ownership and historical mapping. After discussion the board closed the public hearing and voted to continue the matter to the next regular meeting, instructing staff to meet with the parties to clarify property ownership. "If next month nothing has been done, we're going to make a decision," the chair said, and the board urged the objecting party to meet with staff promptly.
