The city representative said the work would include removing and reconfiguring overhead doors, constructing storage outbuildings and making modifications needed for county operations; the city also said it planned to spend over $200,000 on the property modifications. Commissioners asked that a written agreement clarify who will pay for additional wiring and networking work, security measures and long‑term occupancy arrangements.
The court voted 5‑0 to exchange the properties and then moved to discuss implementation details offline. After a short executive session at 10:25 a.m., commissioners returned and approved the exchange 5‑0. Commissioners directed staff to finalize written terms, identify funding sources for upgrades, and ensure constables’ access and CJIS/cybersecurity separations are addressed before full transfer of operations.
